 MLM
8:53 PM
just now i went for a job interview. MJ introduced me there. i really thought it would be the best job that i will be getting, but who knows things aren't what i've expected in there... it's a MLM business. those who don't know what it is, let me just explain a bit of it here...

MLM is multi-level marketing. it works with a marketing strategy called Networking. put it in a simple manner, you will have to sell products, normally health products. you sell them, you get commission. however, it is not only about sales. upon reaching a certain sales target, you will get 'promoted', whereby your commission will increase and you are allowed to have downlines, which means to say you can get your friends in to help you sell the products. and not only will your friends get commission like you do before, you will also get overwrite from what they sell, which is normally the difference between your commission and your friends'.

for example, you earn a 5% commission before promotion, 10% after promotion, and your friends come in as your down lines earning 5% commission. so whenever your friends sell a product, they will get the 5% commission and you as their 'head' will earn another 10%-5%=5% overwrite of the product they sell. in other words, you earn money without doing anything.

of course, when your downlines sell enough to get you promoted, you earn higher commissions, which means higher overwrites. this process can be accelerated when your downlines sell enough to get themselves promoted, and they themselves have downlines, and their downlines keep selling and promoting and get new downlines, and your money keeps rolling in.

sound tempting? you might be thinking it is the easiest way to earn quick BIG money. coz normally, the products are REAL expensive, $2000 plus... so calculate the commission and all the overwrites you get. you'll get rich in no time... well, not to forget one thing, you are a downline yourself. someone must have introduced you to this business in the first place. you see, you want quick money, so you put in damn lots of effort to get lots and lots of downlines and earn big big bucks. but your 'head' will be there shaking his leg and counting the money that you've earned for him, without doing anything. what's worse, your 'head' is also a donwline. feels bad? think that it is not fair? you are doing it yourself. think about having your friends as your downlines. do you feel good? having to have your own friends sweat for you?

i hate this. you can say that i'm stupid for giving up the opportunity to earn quick BIG cash. so what if i can earn so much money? on an individual view, it would only mean that i'll only suffer at the beginning stage, and after that, money will keep rolling in. but do you know what those money mean? it will mean your downlines are suffering, and you are earning money coz of their sufferings. and the more people who suffers, the more money you have. that sounds so wonderful isn't it?

i'm not against this system. it is perfectly logical that you get overwrites when your downlines earn, coz in some ways you gave them the opportunity to come in here and earn money, and you also provide them the training on how to sell the product. however, it gets irritatingly disgusting when you depend solely on your downlines for money, which means to say you don't sell the products yourself anymore. i personally think that MLM will work if everybody do the selling, and not only the newbies who struggle to get themselves promoted. but who will want to work when you can get free money? this is stupid.

so today, upon knowing the nature of my job, i have decided to not take the job. say i'm stupid. yes maybe... there is a 18 years old guy over there who could afford sports car but still getting a driving license. and a 21 year old girl who is in university now and with rolling income while doing nothing except for studying. she's driving a sports car by the way. so? do you think this can last forever?
[some words are better left as my secret]
