things are settling down

so many things happened since the last post. maybe i'll just update as much i as can.hmmm, let's talk about the uni life.
well, though i said i plan to take up 3 CCAs the last entry, the outcome was that i'm now only with one CCA - NUStudios a.k.a the film school. well, there are many reasons for not taking up the other two CCAs. for cheerleading, the reason was simple, it was just coz Yvon didn't give me any information about it, so since she's not really enthu about it then well, i'm fine with not joining since i wanted to join that CCA only because she wants to.
then for the Hip-hop CCA, you do think that i didn't get in because i didn't pass the auditions, do you? well, it was because of the auditions, but not because i didn't pass, but because i didn't even went for the auditions! the reason is kind of complicated. Basically, it was because i choose to do TXY stuff instead. Well, i'll explain that later when i come to TXY stuff. So yah, i didn't get into hip-hop. but anyway, even if i really went for the auditions, i may not get in! haha. so yah, i'm now left with only 1 CCA.
For my course, i'm now dealing absolutely fine. there are a lot of presentations for us to do, on average, about 1 presentation per week. so there are tonnes of projects for me to catch up with. other then that, there are also sketching and modelling sessions for us. we are to hand up at least 5 sketches a week. well, those are sketches of products we found in our everyday life, till now i've already sketched handphones, staplers, wallet, correction tapes, vernier callipers, water bottle, earphone, hair clip, pen, mouse (as in computer mouse), key chains and many many more.
for the modelling sessions, we have one model to build every week. the 1st model that we have to do is a 100mmX100mmX100mm perfect cube, literally, with discrepancies of 99.5mm - 100.5mm. a vernier calliper is used to take the accurate measurements. also, a trisquare is used to check the "squareness" of every side. any more then 1degree of unsquareness is considered UNACCEPTABLE. this is stuppid. the following projects are all using acrylic to make curves. using files and sandpaper to ensure smoothness of the curves... in addition to all these standard work, we sometimes have surprize assignments to do. so our work do not only include the standard every week assignments i've mentioned earlier.
another thing about my uni life is that i'm starting to work part-time at computer centre! biao gang intro me to work there as a comic artist, basically to help them in designing and drawing. per hour is $8, and the maximum i can work per week is 8 hours. well, NUS policy is that student part-timers in school cannot be overworked, thus i'm not allowed to work more. but then an extra $200 a month would be good enough for me to buy new materials. haha
ok, enough of my school life. let's talk about TXY.
well, 1st sept was the 25th anniversary (supposedly) for TXY. i'd been SOOOOOOO damn busy preparing it. i was in-charged of a history gallery for the event, so with only 3 members in my committee, i was supposed to make a damn nice gallery for the event for everyone to see, featuring the 25 years of TXY. we are so short-handed. partly because one of my committee members encounter problems with his family and couldn't participate in the preparation. so those who knows maths would know that we were left with only 2 members to produce the stuff. ha ha. now you know why i had to skip the hip-hop auditions for this, we were simply in danger of failing to produce stuff on time! so yah, i pulled all the hands that could help me in completing this, and yes, the stuff are up on time.
adding to my load, i was also the emcee of the event. that was so stressful. since it was supposed to be an extremely formal event, i went to the extent of wearing my prom night dress! what's worse, the preparation for the emcee script was done the night before the event, so yah, i was NOT familiar with the script AT ALL. but hey, it's over now. haha
oh yah, that day was also the day when the exco committees stepped down for the new committee. it was then i took up my new post in TXY as the president of the club. a whole new experience with a whole new responsibility.
